Abstract:In aluminate electrolyte systems ,protective coatings(thickness>56 μm) were fabricated on 6061 aluminum alloy surface by micro‐arc oxidation and constant current .T he microstructure and phase struc‐ture of microarc oxidation coatings ,together with its microhardness distribution ,were investigated by SEM and XRD .The results showed that the coating was mainly composed of Al and O ,with the phases ofγ‐Al2 O3 ,α‐Al2 O3 ,and Al formed .The hardness of ceramic oxide coatings with the value of 1317 Hv0 .1 was ten times higher than that of 6061 aluminum alloy .
